The Fascination

Sometimes, when you live in an area where historical landmarks are located it's easy to take them for granted because you know they will always be there.  When I finally decided to tour the Dow House a few miles from where I live, I went with the preconceived notion I wasn't going to see anything I hadn't already seen at historical museums except the house itself.

To my unimagined surprise, I found the Dow House is not a museum at all, and it isn't just a house, it's a home.  Once inside it was hard to dismiss the silly notion that the Dows were simply out for the day, or the eeriness suggesting they might even return before the tour was over.

The experience left me with an unfettered desire to find them.
